Sarah earned a BS in both Biology and Psychology, focused on animal behavior, from UCF. During college, Sarah became a wolf educator, learning to interpret canine behavior under one of the world’s leading wolf biologists, Dr. David Mech. She also worked as an educator at Sea World and interned at zoos and sanctuaries, focusing on large carnivores. Sarah’s passion for and understanding of dog behavior, along with its connection to the human-canine bond, have fueled her career.
She has extensive experience working in multiple facilities and kennels that specialize in rehabilitating and handling reactive and aggressive dogs. Her unique position, combining a strong background in behavior with practical handling skills, has allowed her to excel in behavioral modification cases, resulting in long-lasting changes that improve the well-being of the dogs.
Sarah is an AKC CGC Evaluator and the Training Director for Twin Cities PSA Club. She is also an Updog Judge, a prospective Barn Hunt Judge, and competes in Dock Diving, FastCAT, Rally, Disc, Agility, Scent Work, Protection Sports, and Barn Hunt. Her 10 years of animal training experience and love of dog sports inspire her to help families find meaningful activities to enjoy with their dogs.
Sarah is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), Prong Collar Knowledge Assessment Certified, and has completed Nino Drowaert’s Puppy and E-collar University. She is lure course safety certified and collects continuing education credits, including a symposium at UNF for Therapy Dogs. Sarah has also worked in veterinary medicine, managing two different veterinary clinics.
Her academic background and years of immersive hands-on experience with diverse canine companions seamlessly integrate theory with real-world application, bridging the gap between research and practice to improve the lives of dogs and their owners.
